Senior Full-Stack Engineer
We are looking for a senior engineer who is comfortable owning a feature from the data model to the screen, and who has opinions about what belongs in the database versus the application.
The work splits roughly between client platforms — web applications, portals and integrations for customers across the Gulf and Africa — and Enerxia, the oil and gas ERP we build and operate ourselves. Both are long-lived systems. An industrial ERP is read for ten years and written for two, and we hire for that timescale.
What you will do
- Design and build features end to end: Prisma schema, domain services, API routes and the React UI on top.
- Model business rules as effective-dated configuration rather than code, so a tax rate change is a configuration edit and an old document still calculates under the rule that applied on its date.
- Write the tests that actually matter — permission tests and negative cases, not only the happy path.
- Work directly with the people who will use the system, including non-technical finance and operations staff, and turn vague requirements into acceptance criteria.
- Keep performance honest on real connections. A large share of our users are on mobile networks with variable bandwidth.
- Review other people's code, and write the paragraph explaining a decision so the next person does not have to reconstruct it.
What we are looking for
- Five or more years building production web applications, with real ownership of what you shipped.
- Strong TypeScript, and React experience deep enough to reason about rendering and data fetching rather than copying patterns.
- Solid relational database skills: schema design, indexing, transactions, and knowing why an ORM query is slow.
- Experience with Next.js, or equivalent depth in another full-stack framework and the willingness to learn this one properly.
- You can explain a technical trade-off in writing to somebody who is not an engineer.
- Comfortable working with people in other time zones and writing decisions down rather than leaving them in a call.
Nice to have
- ERP, accounting, or any domain where correctness is audited by somebody outside the company.
- Multi-currency or multi-entity systems, and the arithmetic discipline they demand.
- Prisma, PostgreSQL at scale, or background job and queue design.
- Portuguese, French or Arabic — we publish and build in all three.
- Experience in a regulated market: tax filing, e-invoicing, financial services or energy.
The honest part
What you would actually be walking into, including the bits that are unfinished.
- The stack is Next.js 15 with React 19, TypeScript throughout, Node, PostgreSQL 16 and Prisma, deployed to our own servers. No microservice sprawl.
- Enerxia is real and it runs — 33 business domains, 258 data models, 167 test suites, 134 screens — but it is in pilot with two companies and thirty-six users. It is not a mature product with a large installed base, and we would rather you know that now than discover it in week two.
- We have rules we do not bend: regulatory logic is dated configuration and never code, nothing transactional is deleted, every mutation is audited, and no regulatory fact gets a plausible-looking default when we do not know it. If those read as bureaucracy rather than as relief, this will be a frustrating place to work.
- There is legacy in the codebase, as there is everywhere. Some of it is ours and we are not precious about it.
- This is a hybrid role based in Chandigarh. It is not fully remote.
